Kevin B. Hollifield

Kevin was born in Bradenton and grew up in Camilla, Georgia. He graduated from Manatee Community College and the University of South Florida. He also attended George Military College on a basketball scholarship. Kevin worked for the last 22 years for Manatee Community College/State College of Florida.

Survivors include his mother Delora Short Traster and her husband Robert of Palmetto, brother Craig Hollifield and his wife Tammy of Bradenton, nieces Kaleigh Beth Hollifield and Molly Kate Hollifield, both of West Columbia, Texas, nephews Ian Reid Hollifield of West Columbia, Texas and Zachary Dean Hollifield of Bradenton, great aunt Molly Kate Stripling of Bradenton, aunt Sally Leitzman and her husband Raymond of Palatka, Florida, uncles Horace Short and his wife Paula of Jeffersonville, Georgia and Daniel Quattlebaum and his wife Janice of Palmetto.

He was preceded in death by his father Gene Hollifield, brother Joseph Hollifield, maternal grandparents Emory and Alene Quattlebaum and paternal grandparents Grady Hollifield and Thelma Bryant, uncles Ben Alan Quattlebaum and Emory Quattlebaum, Jr.

Kevin lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, scuba diving and all sports. Go Georgia Bull Dawgs!

Visitation will be held from 2–3:00 pm followed by Funeral Services at 3:00 pm Monday, April 11, 2011 at Mansion Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Ellenton, Florida. Flowers will be accepted, or please send donations to the State College of Florida Foundation Scholarship Fund.
