

Randall Lane Borland, 71, of Parrish, Florida, died at home on January 1, 2020. He was born December 1, 1948 in Sidney, Ohio to Chester (Whitey) and Rose (Morrissey) Borland. He attended Bethel High School in Tipp City, Ohio and continued his education at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, graduating in 1972 with a bachelor’s degree in physical education.
Randy moved to Lakeland, Florida in 1979, holding various titles ranging from elementary P.E. coach to elementary school principal while in Lakeland, and had obtained his Masters in physical education and school administration. In 1995, he moved to Auburndale where he opened Berkley Charter School and served as principal and, later, Director. After 42 years in education, Randy retired in 2013 and moved to Parrish, Florida to be close to his grandchildren.
Randy had many diverse interests, some of which included fishing trips to Canada with his brother, Mark, swimming, scuba diving, gymnastics, nature and the outdoors, gardening, carpentry, Tampa Bucs football, Gator football, Tampa Rays baseball, Cincinnati Reds baseball, collecting Mickey Mantle memorabilia, reading, teaching, researching, and spending time with his six grandchildren.
Randy was preceded in death by his father, Chester; mother, Rose; brother, Gary; beloved nephews, Dougie Clark, Damien Eisnaugle, and Luke Eisnaugle.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanie; daughter, Brandi (Chris) Paradis; son, Shannon Borland; sisters, Carole Borland and Sandy (Terry) Eisnaugle; brother, Mark Borland; six grandchildren, Cameron Hilbert, Kyle Hilbert, Connor Hilbert, Brooke Hilbert, Christopher Paradis, and Brielle Paradis.
There will be a gathering of family and friends held between 2:00-4:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Groover Funeral Home and Mansion Memorial Park, 1400 36th Ave E, Ellenton, FL 34222. The family requests that family and friends share a memory in the guestbook below.
