

Raymond Rueben Draeger, Jr. was born in Clintonville, Wisconsin on August 22, 1938. He passed on January 28, 2022 at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center in Florida. He was predeceased by his parents Raymond and Erna Draeger, his brother Orwin Draeger and brother-in-law Phil Rucinski. Ray is survived by his wife Judith Draeger, children Kelly (Kevin) Rohrer, Kevin (Jenny) Draeger, Mitchell Draeger, Brian Draeger, Richard Draeger and DeAndre Draeger, grandchildren John Garza, Olivia Draeger and Kory Rohrer, brother Byron Draeger (Donna) sisters Darlene Rucinski, Karen Geiger (Charles) and sister-in-law Wanda Draeger, and many nieces and nephews. He married his wife Judy on July 30, 1960 and after being drafted in the US Army and serving in Vietnam, they raised their family in Rockford Illinois. He retired from his career as an Industrial Engineer at Chrysler in 2006. He loved spending time with his family in Wisconsin and hunting at the family farm with his sons, siblings, nieces and nephews. He enjoyed his fishing trips with his brothers and and his friends. He would be considered an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed gardening and planting different trees, plants and could grow anything based on the climate he and Judy lived in. He had the power to assess any situation and always gave the best advice. Ray and his wife Judy went on many excursions and owned a timeshare in St. Thomas.
A special gathering will be held in his honor at a later date for the family to spread his ashes on the family farm in Wisconsin where he grew up.
