Sylvia Ann Wingate

Sylvia Ann Wingate, age 73, of Myakka City, Florida passed away on Friday, May 17, 2024. You could find Sylvia at her happiest when she was surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She especially loved spending time taking road trips with her family. Visiting The Great Smokey Mountains of Tennessee where she enjoyed visiting often over the years past.

Sylvia is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years, Gene Wingate; parents; Earl Miller and Seley Overstreet; brothers, Shorty Miller and Mac Miller.

She is survived by her children, Gene (Tamara) Wingate, Earl Wingate and Jenny (Kevin) Wingate; grandchildren, Courtney (Morgan) Boyer, Casey (Tyler) Parkinson, Clay Wingate and Larry Gene Morris; great- grandchildren, Josey Belle and Lyla Jean Boyer; sister, Alma Scheele; brothers, Curtis Miller, Butch Doster and Jody Doster.

A visitation for Sylvia will be held Friday, May 24, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Groover Funeral Home at Mansion Memorial Park, 1400 36th Ave East, Ellenton, FL 34222. A 10:00 AM funeral service will occur Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Bethany Baptist Church, 26604 FL-64, Myakka City, FL 34251. A graveside service to follow in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.
