Ildefonsa Ortiz De Porras, age 78, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, in Casa Grande, Arizona, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on January 23, 1947, in Cerritos, San Luis Potosí, Mexico, to Narcizo Ortiz and Maria Hernandez Ortiz. After spending 16 years in Brownsville, Texas, she moved to Eloy, Arizona, where she lived for 62 years and became a cherished member of the community. Eloy was not just her home, but the place where she built a life defined by faith, dedication, and unwavering love for her family.
On May 19, 1967, Ildefonsa married her beloved husband, Armando Antonio Porras Sr., in Florence, Arizona. Their marriage was a beautiful example of commitment, patience, and devotion, lasting nearly six decades. Together they raised their children with strong values centered on faith, respect, and hard work. Ildefonsa was the heart of her home—a steady presence whose love could be felt in every meal she prepared, every prayer she whispered, and every sacrifice she made for her family.
A woman of deep and enduring faith, Ildefonsa began each day reading her Bible, drawing strength and peace from God’s word. Her faith guided her actions and shaped her gentle, compassionate spirit. She had a love for gardening, finding joy in nurturing plants just as she nurtured those around her. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and quiet moments of reflection, but her greatest happiness came from time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She delighted in their laughter, milestones, and successes, always offering encouragement, wisdom, and unconditional love.
Ildefonsa was known for her kindness, humility, and strong work ethic. She was selfless in nature, always putting the needs of others before her own. Family gatherings were made special by her presence, and her home was a place of warmth, comfort, and welcome. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the values she instilled, and the love she so freely gave.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Armando Antonio Porras Sr., born in Eloy, Arizona, and by her loving children: Enedina Chambers of Casa Grande, Arizona, and her husband Brian Chambers; Oscar Porras of Casa Grande, Arizona, and his wife Melissa Porras; Hilda Perez of Eloy, Arizona, and her husband Edward Perez; and Armando Porras Jr. of Phoenix, Arizona, and his wife Katie Porras. She also leaves behind ten cherished grandchildren—Arielle Duncan, Brandon Webb, Oscar Porras, Omar Porras, Jacob Porras, Celeste Carmona, Alex Perez, Seth Perez, Jacqueline Gutierrez, and Jared Perez—and eleven adored great-grandchildren: Ella Duncan, Grace Webb, Wyatt Weehler, Oscar Porras, Harper Porras, Oliver Porras, Adlih Carmona, Metzli Carmona, Benjamin Carmona, Maximiliano Carmona, and Noa Gutierrez.
She was preceded in death by her sister Petra Zarate; her father Narcizo Ortiz; her mother Maria Hernandez Ortiz; and her beloved eldest granddaughter Jessica Porras, whom she held forever in her heart. Memorial services will be held at J. Warren Eloy Valley Chapel at 2:00 p.m., followed by a reception at Paradise Grand Events in Eloy, Arizona, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted to J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole and Maud Gardens Chapel.
Ildefonsa Ortiz De Porras will be remembered as a faithful servant of God, a loving matriarch, and a woman whose life was defined by love, resilience, and grace. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit lives on through the generations she so dearly loved.
