George Ellson was very much loved by his family. George was married to the love of his life, Kay, for 61 years. George passed away on Friday, September 29th, followed by Kay five days later. We are happy they are reunited in heaven. George is survived by his two children, Tracy Gallman (Randy Gallman) and Col Kevin Ellson (Rita Ellson). He had four grandchildren, Cassidy, Jeremy, Jennifer, and Luke. George had three great-grandchildren, Ashtyn, Kylie, and Theodore. George was a devoted Christian.
George was born in 1940, in a log cabin in Banner, Missouri. He moved to California as a very young child and then on to Oregon. George served 10 years in the US Navy. He served two tours in Vietnam, and did a Round the World cruise with the US Navy onboard the USS Fisk. While in the Navy, he met the love of his life Kay Rehfeld. They were married in Salem, Oregon in 1962. George and Kay settled down in Oregon after leaving the Navy in 1967. They lived in both Beaverton and Salem until 1991, when they moved to San Diego, CA.
George was a talented Electronic Engineer. He held several patents. An entrepreneur, George also owned several businesses including Beaver Electronics and Bijou's Bungalow.
George loved traveling to Maui and the California and Oregon Coast with his wife Kay. George loved traveling with his wife and her sister Connie and her husband Chuck Graber. They also loved visiting and traveling with their best friends Ken and Donna Gard.
George will be missed tremendously by all his friends and family. He left a positive impression on everyone he met. Following Navy tradition, we wish him "Fair Weather and Following Seas".
