Jan spent many years in Banning, California, where she built a life centered around family and community. Later, she moved to Cardiff-by-the-Sea to be closer to her family. In Cardiff, she experienced a renewed vibrancy, energized by her close-knit network of friends and the joy of being surrounded by family. Those years were marked by laughter, companionship, and an active social life that she embraced wholeheartedly.
A devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and proud great-grandmother, Jan was the heart of her family. Jan was known for her strength and resilience, and for a sharp mind that stayed with her throughout her 97 years. She always had an opinion and wasn’t afraid to share it. Her honesty and spirited nature made her unforgettable to all who knew her.
