His spirit is carried on by his wife, Geraldine, his two sons, Steven (Ann) Grimaldi, and Daniel Grimaldi; his brothers Thomas (Kathleen) Grimaldi, Paul (Melissa) Grimaldi; his sisters Karen Spybrook, Mary Jo (Marc) Israel; 24 nieces and nephews, and an extended family of relations and friends from every walk of life.
Born in 1948 in Detroit, Michigan, Steven attended St. Davids, De La Salle Collegiate, and graduated from the University of Detroit. He was a true Detroiter. Never afraid of a challenge, Steven sought opportunities that took him and his family to Monroe, Connecticut, Mission Viejo, California, Bluffton, South Carolina, and finally Cardiff By The Sea, California. Never losing touch with his roots and sense of humor, he would joke "you can take the man out of Detroit, but you can't take Detroit out of the man."
An avid sports fan, Steven followed, sometimes painfully, the Red Wings, Lions, Tigers, Pistons, and Wolverines. Never being one to hold his tongue, Steven is giving an earful to our Creator on how to fix the Lions. Any turn around should immediately be associated with his input from above.
Steven also enjoyed riding his bike along the Pacific Coast and golfing in his retirement. Countless rides and rounds made him happy; he rode and played in all kinds of weather, only stopping if a hurricane warning became an actual hurricane.
We know Steven is treasuring a reunion with family and friends he hasn't seen in a long time, specifically his daughter Heather Grimaldi, his Mom and Dad, Catherine and Edward Grimaldi, and sister Janet (Grimaldi) Olson.
Dad, we know no one is perfect, but please always know YOU were PERFECT for US. You will be missed more than words can express. God Bless.
