Earl J Schneider

SCHNEIDER, Earl J., 72 of Union went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 after a very courageous 6.5 year battle with Multiple Myeloma. Earl is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Mary (Wasson) Schneider; son and daughter-in-law Brian and Caroline Schneider, three grandchildren Ashley, Joshua and his fiancé Gretchen Houston, Brandon and great-granddaughter Kylie, all of Union. He is also survived by his sister Lillian and brother-in-law Charley Gates of Raceland, KY, two brothers and sisters-in-law Raymond and Sue Schneider, Ronnie and Freda Schneider, all of Ashland, KY, three sisters-in-law Ruth Schneider of Ironton, OH, Lovilla Schneider of Cynthiana, KY, Gladys Zink of Fairborn, OH, brother-in-law Jim and sister-in-law Sandy Wasson of Batavia, OH, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends Chuck and Elaine VanBuren of Englewood, OH and his card playing buddies Jim Canterbury, Al Souleyrette, and Gary Perkins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Alice (Murdock) Schneider, four brothers Bill, Jack, Henry and Willard Schneider, and sister-in-law Carol Gean Schneider. Earl was a member of the Union United Methodist Church, had worked at Dayton Press (McCalls), and Federal Mogul (Brico). He enjoyed relaxing in the sun, bowling, golfing, playing cards, watching NASCAR and many other sports. His family will receive friends Monday evening February 27, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME ENGLEWOOD CHAPEL, 675 West Wenger Road. A celebration of Earl’s life will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at the Union United Methodist Church, 222 Shaw Road, Union, OH 45322, with Pastor Jeffrey Blair presiding. Burial will follow in Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. Contributions, if desired, may be made to Union United Methodist Church or Hospice of Dayton in memory of Earl.
