Robert Meininger

MEININGER, Robert "Bob", 96 of Englewood, died Thursday, December 7, 2017. Bob was born in Dayton, Ohio to Albert and Gertrude (Deis) Meininger on February 25, 1921. The family moved to Cincinnati, Ohio soon after. Bob was preceded in death by his lovely wife of 63 years, Janet in 2008, and his four brothers. Bob is survived by 5 children: Teri and Mike Knapke, Tom (Crystal) Meininger, Tony and Lynn Meininger, Leah and Sean Reynolds and Jeff and Robin Meininger. Bob is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, special caregiver Cheryl Ingram and many other special friends. Bob served in the U.S. Army Air Force during WW II, in the European Theater. He retired in 1986 after 40 years as District Manager in Pharmaceutical sales. Bob was an enthuiastic tennis player into his mid 80's, he enjoyed time with his family as well as his tennis and card buddies. There will be a Memorial Mass on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 11:00 am at ST. PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1000 West Wenger Road, Englewood, Ohio with Fr. James Seibert C.PP.S. celebrant. His cremains, along with his wife's cremains will be inurned at the Dayton National Cemetery at his families convenience. Donations in memory of Bob may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
