

Evalyn Marie was born to Olive and Fred Anders on December 21, 1915 in Kansas City, Kansas. She moved to Los Angeles in 1929 with her family. She attended Los Angeles schools and completed her education attending Sawyers Business College. After graduation she was employed by the Security First National Bank in downtown Los Angeles. While there she met her future husband, Dale I. Hilmer of Covina, California and they were married on July 20, 1940. They moved to Escondido in 1941 and lived there the rest if their married life (1941-2007). Dale taught at Escondido High School for 32 years.
She is predeceased by her husband Dale and son Jay. She is survived by son Steve and daughter-in-law Ginny of Barrington, IL, daughter-in-law Debbie of Eugene, Oregon and grandchildren Michael, Brandon, Jayme, Jayson & Kristie and great granddaughters Evalyn and Jayda.
Evalyn enjoyed volunteering & memberships in Educational & Philanthropic organizations and was a member of the First United Methodist Church since 1941. She was a member & past president of Chapter F.V.P.E.O. sisterhood, the original chapter of Children’s Hospital Auxiliary & Jr. & Sr. Women’s Club.
In 1991 she and her husband sold their home and avocado property overlooking the city and entered the retirement facility of Redwood Terrace.
At the request of Mrs. Hilmer, no services are planned.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Funeraria del Angel McLeod, Escondido, California.
