Lala Chavez was born in Winslow, Arizona on April 25, 1927. She was the first and only child of Eligio and Clorinda Chavez. Living in Winslow, AZ is where she met her future husband Roy Guerrero. Lala was enrolled in kindergarten and Roy was enrolled in first grade when they both met for the first time.
Their love blossomed and they both pledged their vows to one another on September 17, 1948. Mrs. Guerrero soon gave life to their 5 children together after marriage. (In order of oldest to youngest). Dorothy Guerrero, David Guerrero, Steve “Rocky” Guerrero, Shirley Guerrero, and Art Guerrero. She was a loving, very devoted homemaker, mother, and matriarch of her family.
In passing, Lala preceded her husband-Roy Guerrero, Son-David Guerrero, Daughter-Shirley Sundly. Her 4 grandchildren Jason Boxell, Mathew Boxell, Drew Sundly, and Valerie Sundly. Also 2 great-grandchildren Isaiah Ramos and Elijah Ramos.
Please join her family in celebrating her life and legacy on Monday October 21, 2019 at McLeod Mortuary in Escondido from 4:00pm-8:00pm. On Tuesday October 22, 2019 her church services will be held at Resurrection Catholic Church in Escondido. Mass will start at 10:00am. After Church services have been completed, she will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in Escondido. Following her burial, family and friends are all welcomed to go back to Resurrection Catholic Church in Escondido for refreshments and to celebrate the impact she had on all of our hearts within her 92 years of life.
