Santiago was born October 1948 in a small village in the hills of Guerrero, Mexico. Born to Heron and Rafaela, Santiago was 1 of 7 siblings. Their sole form of survival was to farm but Santiago envisioned more than the farm life. He made the journey to the United States to seek the American Dream. He arrived in Escondido, California in the 1980s. Santiago worked multiple jobs to provide for his family. Santiago was a devoted Christian and loved to worship God. He said the best gift he received was the Bible. Santiago loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed gardening, hiking, watching sports, and traveling.
Santiago is survived by his wife Luz, his four children Eva, Jennie, David, Jessica, and his four grandchildren.
Santiago will be remembered by his strength, hard work, humbleness, and his love for God. Santiago will live in our hearts and memories forever.
