

He was a tool and die maker for Faultless Caster for 44 years where he retired in 1986.
Al was a current member of Bible Center Cathedral and previously attended Bethel Temple.
He liked to sing, was in a barber shop quartet, was in choir for many years, and also sang for television church. Al also enjoyed playing clabber, gardening, travel, bird watching, and fishing.
Al was a very loving and devoted Christian husband and father.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Laura Wimpelberg; and grandson, Gerald Wayne Smith, Jr.
Al is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty M. Wimpelberg; daughter, Catherine Wright-Garrett (Jerry) of Evansville; son, Kevin Wimpelberg (Johnamie) of West Palm Beach, FL.; grandchildren, David Smith (Holly) of Indianapolis, Aaron Wright (Brittany), Nathan Wright, and Kyle Wimpelberg; great-grandchildren, Blake, Katlin, Grace, Asia, and Aviri.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, March 14, 2011 at The Cathedral, officiated by Pastor Rick Van Hoose, Rev. Alan Shelby, and Rev. Greg Hitchcock with entombment at Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit Sunday from 1:00 – 6:00 PM at Alexander North Chapel and on Monday at 10:00 AM at the church until service time.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Cathedral Haiti Fund.
