She retired from Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation in 1991 as manager of Oak Hill cafeteria. Madeline enjoyed sewing and working puzzle books. She had been a member of Indiana School Food Service National and Local.
Madeline was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Blythe; son, Bruce Blythe; sister, Bonnie Turner; and brothers, Marion Orendoff, James Damron, and Hubert Guthrie, Jr. and Bobby Orendoff, both in infancy.
She is survived by her son, Gary Blythe; sisters, Annetta Guess and Linda Carlton; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 17, 2025 at Alexander North Chapel, with entombment to follow in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends and family may visit from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
