Berneard Fleming

He worked for the Core of Engineers and the coal mine for many years, retiring at the age of 62. Berneard enjoyed spending time with his family, children and grandchildren.

Berneard was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Johnny Fleming; and sister, Thelma Jean Glover.

He is survived by his sons, Berneard D. Fleming and DeLarentus A. Fleming; daughter, Shanica Denton; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; wife, LaVerne Denton-Fleming; siblings, Ida Vaughn (James), Kalvin Fleming, Barbara McRae, Janice Wilson (Antone), Bryan Fleming (Veronica), April Boone (Robert), Terry Fleming (Krista), Sherry Lester (Terry), David Fleming (Bertha), Loretta Tyler, and Mark Wills (Darlene); and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Alexander Funeral Home – East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue, with Elder Bryan Fleming officiating. Friends may pay their respects to the family from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
