She was a member of Landmark Baptist Church. She and her husband opened Jay Sales in 1971 and she was still operating the business with her son, David.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Jerry Dean Jewell, who died in 1996.
She is survived by her son, David M. Jewell; sister, JoAnn Briant; brother, John Snyder, Jr., all of Evansville; sister, Mary Lou Wornica of Steilacoom, WA; and cousin, Linda Beach of Evansville.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at Alexander Memorial Park Chapel of Remembrance, officiated by Rev. Barry Kirves, with entombment to follow. Friends may visit Tuesday from 9:30 AM until service time at the cemetery.
