Cara graduated from William Henry Harrison High School as a member of the Honor Society. She then attended the University of Southern Indiana where she graduated with a degree in Business Administration. Cara worked as the Secretary, Treasurer, and EEO Officer at Hummel Electric for 18 years. Her wonderfully eclectic personality allowed her to have a love in the Lord, as well as a love and tolerance of all people and practices such as yoga and astrology. Her hobbies included arranging flowers, gardening and journaling. In her spare time, she constantly created beautiful things.
Cara was preceded in death by her husband Jeffrey Olen Goebel.
Cara is survived by her father Wade Hummel, mother Christy Hummel, sisters Layla Harrington and Erin (Tom) Kinner, brother Eli Hummel, nieces and nephews Douglas, Victor and Olivia Harrington, Eleanor and Simon Kinner, and stepson Seth Goebel. She is also survived by a large extended family with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and her grandmother.
Cara loved her family unconditionally. Her smile and laugh would light up the whole room and always make you feel warm and welcome. She took great pride in being Aunt Cara and loved her nieces and nephews beyond all. She was a devoted, loving, and caring daughter and sister. Cara had the heart of a peacemaker. She was highly empathetic towards others. Anticipating and meeting the needs of others was always on her mind. She worked hard. She was extremely faithful, and Cara will be missed forever.
