

Carl E. Krietenstein, 90, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016, at Deaconess Hospital. He was born November 5, 1925, in Vanderburgh Co., to the late Carl F. and Lena Marie (Scherer) Krietenstein.
He was a US Army veteran of WWII serving as a Chinese interpreter to the US troops , a member of VFW 1114 and Grace Baptist Church. He owned and operated K and W Shell station for over 20 years. He retired from Raben Tire as service department manager. He was an avid golfer and was a member of Old State Country Club and Western Hills Country Club. Carl was also a member of the West Side Nut Club.
Carl was preceded in death by son, Jerry Krietenstein, and sisters, Elvira Krietenstein and Virginia Schmuck.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine (Wingert) Krietenstein; sister, Venita (Warren) McAlvey; children, Keith (Jan) Krietenstein, Vicki (Darrell) Bell, and Sandy Krietenstein; 7 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 11:00AM, Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road, officiated by Pastor Ray Deeter, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit 1:00 to 5:00PM, Sunday, October 30, 2016, and Tuesday from 10:00AM to service time at the funeral home.
