

Carl W. Meyers, 100, of Houston, TX, previously of Evansville, passed away Monday, September 27, 2010, at Hearthstone Assisted Living in Houston. He has resided at Hearthstone Assisted Living for the past two and a half years. He was born March 27, 1910, in Terre Haute, IN.
He held various occupations over the years, including working at Hulman & Company, Ideal Pure Milk Dairy and Meyers Building and Supply. During retirement he worked at Dexter Villa, Beckmeyer and Olympic Apartments in maintenance. He was a member of the Eagles.
In 1976 Carl and his wife, Helen, took a trip to Harlaxton, England to visit his daughter, Dorothy, and son-in-law, Paul, at Harlaxton College. He returned to Evansville for his 100th birthday party with family and friends.
Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Helen J. McCrarey; three brothers; and five sisters.
He is survived by his daughter, Dorothy Winternheimer and husband, Paul L.; son, Steve R. Meyers and wife, Joan; sister, Irma Sparrow; grandchildren, Louis W. and Amy Scott, Timothy, William and Christopher Meyers; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, October 2, 2010, at Alexander East Chapel, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM and Saturday from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
