Carlis owned Chief Contracting, Smoke Therapy and was part-owner of Vertical Contracting. He was a coach for the Lakeview Optimist League and Castle Youth Football League. He played semi-pro football for the Bearcats and Vipers. Carlis loved motorcycles, especially his Ducatti and his 1967 Lincoln Continental. Carlis was a Chicago everything fan, especially the Bears. He also was a huge fan of Notre Dame. He was loved by many and his loss will be forever felt.
Carlis is survived by his wife, Shemeka; and his children, Carlis, Aniyah and Kysonn; mother, Eartha Falls; siblings, Henrietta “Precious”, Tony (Heather), Albert and Lymond (Beth); aunt Martha (Louie); uncle Mike; nieces and nephews, Talayzia, “Ice” Cole, and Elaysha; godson, Kyrique; and mother-in-law, Sheila Outlaw.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at The Rock at Evansville, 2601 S. Boeke Road, with Eulogist Pastor Timothy Simmons, Sr. and Officiant Pastor Levon Dozier, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
