Carlos was born in Panama City, Panama, on January 22, 1948. He graduated from Wagner High School at Clark AFB in the Philippines in 1965 and went on to attend Texas A&M to study architecture.
Although he built a career in sales, work was never what defined him. Carlos will be remembered as a creative soul who found joy in creating beauty and sharing it with those he loved. His true passion was found outdoors and in creative expression. He had a remarkable gift for landscaping, gardening, design, sewing, and painting, transforming ordinary spaces into places of beauty and peace. His gardens reflected his patience, imagination, and deep appreciation for nature.
Carlos was a gentle and devoted husband to Emily Susan, with whom he shared forty-seven wonderful years of marriage; a kind and loving father to James Wallace and Diana Leigh; and a cherished and proud grandfather to Luke, Wills, and Stella.
He is survived by his siblings: sisters Lourdes “Lou” Woods and Nicole Pollard, both of Evansville, Indiana; a brother, William “Roger” Pollard of Panama; and three half-sisters, Anabel Lapori and Carla Lepori of Caracas, Venezuela, and Alicia Lepori of Miami, Florida with whom he recently reconnected and welcomed with love. He will also be missed by all of his nieces and nephews and by those whose lives he touched with his kindness and gentle spirit.
Carlos was the beloved son of Leticia “Letty” and Floyd “Deon” Pollard, both of whom preceded him in death.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue, Evansville, IN, officiated by Pastor Bill Altman. Friends and family may visit from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor his memory by making a donation to the Vanderburgh Humane Society and planting something beautiful in your own garden.
