

He was a life-long member of Calvary Baptist Church and a proud Lumbee Native American. He was an Honorary Kentucky Colonel and the first recipient of the Harry Tenbarge Award given for community service. He loved playing music and was a member of the Bluegrass Association of Kentucky. He used his God given talent to entertain and minister to people. He participated in numerous charitable community events. He retired from the Railroad in 1985 after 30 years of service. Carson loved his Lord.
Carson was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Weigel; parents, Ralph and Katy (Deese) Lowry; and several siblings.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Rose Mary (Teague) Lowry of Evansville; daughters, Cheryl (Dennis) Nuebling of Evansville, Anita (Robert) Berkau of Newburgh and Michelle (Jody) Whitler of Evansville; son, Carson (Lisa) Lowry, Jr. of Newburgh; grandchildren, Shannon Reeb, Damon Nuebling, Jason Weigel, Ron Mercer, Jr., Anthony (Ashlee) Mercer, Adam Lowry, Luke Lowry, Allison Whitler and Zachary Whitler; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Lottie (Gary) Hardison and Adeline Maynor, both of North Carolina; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be 10:30 AM Monday, June 4, 2012, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Herbert Lowry, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Sunday from 2:00 to 7:00 PM and Monday from 9:30 AM until service time at the funeral home.
