Charlene “Cholly” Smith, 78, of Evansville, IN, passed away Friday, February 7, 2020, at her home. She was born June 18, 1941, in Boswell, Indiana, to the late Charles S. and Pinnie V. (Farrar) Wilson.
Charlene was the Bingo Queen and was an avid card player and loved games. She had a wonderful sense of humor. Charlene owned ZB Custom Steel Guitar Company with her husband. She loved dolphins. Charlene was a Boy Scout Leader for many years. She was a member of the Moose Lodge and Eastern Star. Charlene’s family meant a lot to her and she loved each and every one of them.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 45 years, Basil W. Smith; three sisters and two grandchildren.
Charlene (Mamaw) is survived by children: Kevin Smith (Mary), Pixie Smith, Richard Smith (Julie), Rosanna Funkhouser (Jim), Basil Smith, Gary Smith (Lisa), and Tim Smith (Crystal); 24 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and many cousins. Charlene was a twin and was one of 15 siblings.

Funeral services will be held at Noon on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Chaplain Scott Hutcheson, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
