

Charles R. “Dick” Giesman, 88, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at Good Samaritan Home. He was born March 14, 1926, in Evansville, IN to the late Charles M. and Cora (Buswell) Giesman.
He graduated from Central High School in 1944. He served in the US Army in the Philippines and in occupied Japan at the end of WWII. He was a Hadi Shrine lifetime member and was involved with the Brass Band and Motor Patrol. Charles was a Mason, and a member of York Rite, where he earned a KYCH. He was involved in Lessing Lodge and was a founding member of Constellation Lodge #748 where he served as Worshipful Master in 1977. He received his 50 year Award of Gold in 2002. He worked as a dental lab technician and also was employed at Bristol-Myers, where he retired from in 1988.
Charles was preceded in death by his sister, Elsie Siechen; and his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Bethel; sons, Charles B. (Paula) Giesman and Thomas R. (Cheryl) Giesman; daughter, Lee Ann (Eric) Newman; grandchildren, Jeff Giesman, Holly Rosero, Nancy Harp, Jacob Giesman, Mary Wildeman, Nick Newman and Brittany Neat; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, November 17, 2014, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Pastor Stephen Beutler, with entombment in Park Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 PM, followed by a Masonic service at 5:00 PM, and Monday from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
