

Cheryl was born July 4, 1944 in Evansville, IN to Ivo and Velada Nelson. She attended Fulton Elementary and graduated from Central High School. She was a lifelong member of Grace Baptist Church. Cheryl was a devout Christian, a talented local artist, and an amazing cook. Above all, her greatest pride and joy was her family.
Surviving Cheryl is her husband of 50 years, James Allen Turner; beloved brother, Ronald Nelson; daughters, Lisa Grayson, Rochelle McBride (Jason), and Anne Fine; and her beloved grandchildren, Erin Bayne (Nathan), Bill Grayson, Kailee McBride, Aubrey Fine, and Turner Fine; and great grandchild, Addelynne Bayne.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Beverly Johnson, Marianne Nash, Judy Knapp, and Doris Smith; brother, Jerry Nelson; and son, Nicholas Grayson.
Friends and family can come to Jim and Cheryl’s home to honor Cheryl on Sunday January 21st between the hours of 1pm and 4pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to American Cancer Society in Cheryl’s name.
