

Dallas was born “Judy Lacey” on May 7, 1943 in Woodland Park, Colorado. She was the daughter of Clifford and Pearl (McCune) Lacey, both of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She changed her name in the late 1970’s to Dallas Darkbear Lacey. Dallas adopted a girl, Kimberly Dawn Williams (Christonsen) whom family has lost contact with around 14 years ago.
Dallas was an avid animal lover. She went on to train german shepherds for the Pueblo County and Colorado Springs Police Department for over 10 years. She later married Charles Henry Whoberry on December 20, 1982 and became a step-mother to daughter Patricia Rohde (Whoberry) of Evansville. Dallas and Charles were married for 44 years and were able to enjoy a wonderful life together. Dallas and Charles lived a majority of their married life in Arkansas. They enjoyed horses, which they had several and were a part of several horse trail riding groups.
Dallas was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Lacey of Canyon City, Colorado and her mother and father, Clifford and Pearl Lacey of Colorado Springs.
She leaves behind her family- Husband, Charles H. Whoberry; daughter, Patricia Rohde; and grandson, Dylan M. Eddings of Evansville; best friend for over 70 years, Leannis Fox of Eldorado Springs, Missouri; and half sister, Lois Smith of Rogens, Arkansas.
Dallas wishes for a simple remembrance with no services, just cremation.
