Darrel Wayne Adams, age 57, of Princeton, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025. He was born on June 16, 1967, in Williamsburg, Ohio, to the late Gilbert John Fiolka Sr. and Peggy Ann (Shoemake) Fiolka.
Darrel was a proud West Sider, one of six brothers, and a graduate of Reitz High School. He served with honor for eight years in the U.S. Army, including time with the 82nd Airborne Division, where he embodied the strength, resilience, and dedication that marked his character. After his military service, Darrel spent 19 years at Wilbert Burial Vault, where his hands-on skills and remarkable work ethic made him a trusted and valued team member. Above all, Darrel was a loving husband, father, and “PoPo” to his cherished grandchildren. He had a special gift for bringing laughter into any room and found joy in making those around him smile.
A lover of nature, Darrel enjoyed star gazing and going on peaceful walks. He cherished spending quality time with his family and was a lifelong fan of Rock ‘n Roll.
Darrel is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years (together for 33 years), Judy (Hill) Adams; his five children, Angel Adams (Alec), Andrew Adams (Abigail), Alyssa Sparacino (Dalton), Aaron Adams (Rebecca), and Avery Adams (Lexi); his nine grandchildren, who were the light of his life; and brothers, Ralph Shoemaker, Larry Adams, Charles Adams, Gilbert Fiolka, Jr., and Greg Fiolka.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, with a Funeral Service immediately following at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Matt Presley. Darrel will be laid to rest at Locust Hill Cemetery.
