

Deborah Kay (Payne) Cleckley, of Evansville, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 30, 2011, at Deaconess Hospital. She was born November 18, 1949, in Evansville, to the late David W. and Elaine Payne, Sr.
She graduated from Rex Mundi High School in 1969 and was also a graduate of the Tri-State Beauty College. She was employed by Deaconess Hospital as a CNA for twenty years. After moving to Alexandria, VA, she worked as a licensed cosmetologist and for the Fairfax County Fastran Medical Care Program.
Deborah was preceded in death by two brothers, Mario Payne (March 2010) and Derek Payne (February 2011).
She is survived by her sons, Eric R. (Tanya) and Bryon L. Cleckley; grandchildren, KeYanla, Kweli and Kaxine; brothers, David Jr. (Mechelle), Marlon (Valorie), George Payne, all of Evansville, and Broderick (Deshaunna) of RioVista, CA; sisters, Mona Bowling, Cherie Payne, Tracy Collins, Ingrid Cates (Greg), Laurie Payne, Dina Payne, all of Evansville, and Sheila Higgins (DeMarco) of Alexandria, VA; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, September 3, 2011, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 613 Cherry Street, officiated by Rev. Stephen P. Lintzenich, with burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit Saturday from 9:00 AM until service time at the church.
