

Debbie's heart overflowed with love for her family, especially her nieces, nephews, and their children. She found joy in spending time with loved ones, adored shopping for them, and relished watching various movies and TV shows, with a special fondness for "Blue Bloods" and "The Equalizer." Her affection extended to her fur babies, and she was known for her kind and generous nature, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Debbie had a remarkable memory for special dates, meticulously keeping track of them on her spreadsheet, ensuring everyone received thoughtful cards for every holiday.
Debbie is survived by her two brothers, Chris M. Schaefer and Richard L. Johnson (Ann); sister, Judy Schaefer; five nieces, Beth Warren (Bill), Amy Freihaut-Kaiser, Jody Freihaut, Megan Freihaut, and Nikki Schaefer-Randall (Omar); sister-in-law, Debbie Lynn Schaefer; brother-in-law, Jerry Freihaut (Marie); fourteen great nieces and nephews, Emily (Chase), Gabe, Jenna (Dawson), Nate, Nora, Cecelia (Trevor), Bridgette (Damon), Sam, Heidi, Chloe (David), Ryann, Isis, Damien, Amara; thirteen great great nieces and nephews, Ben, Kynzleigh, Gracie, Kayleigh, Claire, Nolan, Kinsley, Winston, Wren, Graeleigh, Anna, Jay, and Lucas; aunts and uncle, Carolyn Martin and Anita and Herbert Howell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Charles D. Schaefer, Norma Gail Walker (Ronald); and niece and nephew, Kyle and Caty Schaefer.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, June 17, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Alexander East Chapel, located at 2115 Lincoln Avenue. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m., with her final resting place at Park Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Vanderburgh Humane Society in honor of Debbie's love for animals.
