

Delta Victoria Wimpelberg, 97, passed away Friday, September 30, 2016 at the Charles Ford Home in New Harmony, IN. She was born November 16, 1918, in Mt. Vernon, Indiana, daughter of William P. and Anna K. Juncker.
Delta was a member of Zoar UCC, where she taught Sunday school for many years. Also, for a number of years, she was caregiver for her mother-in-law, Elizabeth Wimpelberg, who suffered a debilitating stroke.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 63 years, Theodore J. Wimpelberg, three brothers, Maurice, Clarence, and Leonard Juncker, five sisters, Edna Kunze, Viola Meredith, Elnora Schmitz, Selma Willman, and Esther Wolf and son-in-law, Robert Grahn.
Delta is survived by two children, Nancy (Alan) Winternheimer of Evansville, IN, and Bill (Karen) Wimpelberg of Owensboro, KY; brother, Lloyd (Mildred) Juncker, of Mt. Vernon, IN; sisters, Bertha Hartman of Mt. Vernon, IN and Carolyn (Delton) Krietenstein of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Andy Grahn of Troy, MO, James Grahn of Brooklyn, NY, Matt (Nikki) Wimpelberg of Owensboro, KY, and Lisa (Wick) Faust of Lexington, KY; great grandchild, Walker Faust of Lexington, KY; and many nieces, nephews, and friends at the Ford Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at Alexander Memorial Park, officiated by Rev. John Heumann, with entombment to follow. Friends may visit Tuesday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Alexander West Chapel.
The family is grateful for all the dedicated caregivers, nursing staff, and everyone at Charles Ford Memorial Home for the wonderful attention, love and care given to Delta during the seven years she resided there.
