Dennis Johnson

He worked for Bristol Myers Squibb/Mead Johnson for 36 years, retiring in 2004. He had a strong passion for life. Dennis was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed riding 4-whelers, camping and hunting. He took pride in his yard and flowers and loved gardening. However, his favorite obsession was cooking. He loved making new dishes for the Sunday afternoon family dinners. He also took great enjoyment in hanging out with his grandchildren. He loved supporting them in all of their sporting and academic events. He was their biggest fan. Dennis had a heart of gold and never met a stranger; he was always willing to help someone in need. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Johnson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Joyce Fay (Burchett) Johnson of Wadesville; three children, Micheal Johnson of Evansville, Mendy Hensley of New Harmony and Mark (Misty) Johnson of Evansville; ten grandchildren, Brandon, Brienna, Chase and Austin Johnson, Aaron, Tyler, Haylie and Kaylie Hensley, Gage and Mya Johnson; sisters-in-law, Doris (Tom) Appell of Evansville and Brenda (Don) Krug of Darmstadt; brothers-in-law, Steven (Glenda) Burchett of Elberfeld, Darrell (Teresa) Burchett and Dennis (Kathy) Burchett, all of Wadesville; and mother-in-law, Anna Burchett.

Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, February 5, 2011, at Alexander Memorial Park Chapel, 2200 Mesker Park Drive, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 West Illinois Street.
