

He attended Mt. Carmel, IL High School and graduated from Evansville Central in 1963. Derriel worked at Dale Sales for 25 years. He enjoyed IU Basketball and was voted Tecumseh Sports’ #1 fan. He loved his grandchildren and never missed one of their games. He loved fishing with his best friend Kenny Williams. Derriel enjoyed spending time with his Donut Bank buddies, and drank coffee there every morning. He was a master barbequer. He loved life and had a wonderful sense of humor.
Derriel is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda Olberding Culver, of Evansville; daughters, Jennifer Garverick (Jon) of Elberfeld and Amy Culver of Evansville; grandchildren, Jacob, Jordan and Jillian Garverick and Hannah and Olivia Culver; sisters, Sandy Williams (Kenny) and Bonnie Culver; brothers, Garry Culver (Linda) and Ron Culver (Norma); best friends, Ron Barclay, Rick Morse and Jay Ball; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A joint service and visitation will be held with his nephew, Bryan Williams. Services will be 1:00 PM Friday, December 30, 2011, at Methodist Temple, 2109 Lincoln Avenue, officiated by Rev. Chris Neikirk, with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue.
Memorial contributions may be made to Methodist Temple Missions Fund.
