

He was an active member of Christ Church and also attended Bethel Temple. Dewey was a dedicated volunteer at the United Caring Shelter, Riley Angel Tree and Deaconess Gateway SDCC and Susan Komen. Dewey retired from Whirlpool after 42 years and was a member of American Legion Post 351. He loved spending time in Tavares, FL the past two years.
Dewey was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Ruth (Foertsch); and his parents, Agnes and Dewey Colbert.
He is survived by his wife, Ruthie (Graper); children, John (Chya) and Mike (Kristi); step-children, Angie (Jeff) Moffett and Jennifer (Ed) Greenfield; sister, Sue (George) Dormeier; grandchildren, Samantha Colbert Beitler, Josh Colbert, Tyler Colbert, Bryee Wathen, Ellena White, Melanie Greenfield, Jacob Greenfield, Harley Greenfield, Garron Moffett and Grayson Moffett; great-grandson, Holden Beitler; and brother-in-law, Robert (Vicki) Graper.
Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, February 9, 2013, at Christ Church United Church of Christ, 3601 Washington Avenue, officiated by Dr. John Charles, with entombment in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road, and Saturday from 9:00 AM until service time at the church.
The family wishes to give a special thanks to OHA, Dr. Browning, and the ICU and 6th Floor staff at Gateway Hospital for their excellent care.
