Donna Krowl, the spunky spontaneous woman who was known for breaking into show tunes and for her “Momisms” such as, “I’m too busy driving to look at the road” or “that’s cute…wait, that’s SCARY!” left us for the place that knows only joy. We are devastated and heartbroken but left with a legacy of love, loyalty and humor. We will all miss her more than words can say.
She graduated from Old Central High School class of 1962, then went on to graduate from the University of Evansville with a Bachelor’s degree in Education in 1966. Donna was a member of All Saints Parish. She retired from the Vanderburgh County Auditor’s Office.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Wynona and Donald Weber; husband, Gary Krowl; and niece, Angie Money.
Donna is survived by her children of whom she was immensely proud, Jenny (Ken) McWilliams, William Krowl (Beth Embry); granddaughters, Morgan and Adie; sisters, Margaret (David) Lessenberry, Sherry (Larry) Bowers, Terri (Bill) Cockerham, Karolyn (David) Miller; brother, Karl (Dorothy) Weber; many nieces and nephews; and by her “Angel Neighbors” Mike Barnett and Sue Armstrong.
The family would like to give special thanks to LaToya Johnson of Heritage Woods of Newburgh and State Senator Vaneta Becker for their tireless advocacy on Donna’s behalf and to the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s and McCutchanville Volunteer Fire Departments for their courtesy and professionalism.
In lieu of flowers buy a stranger a cup of coffee, hug a friend, release a grudge. Donna regularly donated to the Southern Poverty Law Center. She was passionate about social justice, despised bullies and never knew a stranger-only future friends.
A Prayer Service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, Evansville, IN officiated by Father Bernie Etienne. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
