

She was a homemaker and took care of her family. She was a gifted seamstress and was proud to make her children’s clothing. She was very involved in helping at her children’s elementary school and served in the P.T.A. She was a lifetime member of the Pioneer Club as a spouse of Kenneth’s. Together they were both very active at the lake of the 80 Acre Club. She enjoyed caring for her dogs and cats. She was a member of the Order of the Amaranth, McCutchanville Community Church, and a former member of St. James East United Methodist Church.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Kenneth Lee Lasher. Both originally of Perry County, Kenneth and Dorothy moved to Evansville after their marriage. She is preceded in death also by her siblings, Robert Lee Nix, Jim August Nix and Margaret Tower Ingle; and parents, Jerry James Nix and Flora (Schmidt) Nix Tower.
She is survived by her daughters, Yvonne (Jim) Lasher Floyd and Lee Ann Lasher; grandchildren, Thalita (Derick)Floyd-Wingerter, Theresa (Mike) Floyd-Maas and Derek (Lacy Leann) Lasher; great-grandchildren, Carly and Nathan Toone and Dayton Lasher; step-great-grandchildren, Grant and Garrett Maas and Brooklin and Colton; brother, Glen Tower; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, January 25, 2014, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jarmon Perkins, with entombment in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM and Saturday from 11:30 AM until service time at the funeral home.
