Douglas “Doug” L. Luzar, 62, of Evansville, passed away Monday, February 9, 2015, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was born February 6, 1953, in North Platte, NE, to the late Ronald W. and Peggy A. (Murdock) Luzar.
He served in the National Guard for six years and was a multi-denominational minister. His passions were driving the bus for Atria, playing guitar and Native American flutes, and being out in nature. He touched many lives, inspiring many with his morning greetings on Facebook, which were full of his words of wisdom. His most recent favorite saying was, “Rest and relaxation is multi-tasking.”
Doug was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Malachi Young.
He is survived by his wife, Joey (Nancy) Luzar; daughters, Angela Noirfalise, Melissa Luzar, both of Oakland City, and Chandra Luzar of Princeton; step-sons, Phillip (Tricia) Meredith and Scott (Valerie) Meredith, both of Evansville; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Sarah, Rachel, Josh, and Jason.
Memorial Services will be 6:00 PM Thursday, February 12, 2015, at Alexander East Chapel. Friends may visit Thursday from 3:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.
