

Edward was born in Evansville, Indiana on May 5, 1925 to the late George and Pearl (Darke) Ogg. He honorably served in the United States Army during WWII. During the war he traveled to England, France, Belgium, Germany, Austria and Holland. Ed was honorably discharged and was awarded a Purple Heart. Ed worked for the United States Postal Service for 33 years. His favorite past times were spending time with his wife Rovilla, along with family, and friends. He enjoyed Square Dancing, Cruises, and Vacations. He was a Baseball coach for 14 years and also coached Basketball and was a Boy Scout leader for many years. He was a very active member of the Trinity Anglican Church and was a vital part of assisting with building and moving to the new location the church now presides.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mildred Ogg; and eight brothers, Joseph Ogg, William Ogg, John Ogg, James Ogg, Ernest (EC) Ogg, Thomas Ogg, Charles Ogg, and Donald Ogg.
Ed is survived by his wife of 69 years and 11 months Rovilla (Reynolds) Ogg of Evansville, IN. Four sons: Donald Ogg (Elaine Jordan) of Orlando, FL, Dennis Ogg (Annette) of Evansville, IN, Douglas Ogg (Elaine) of Wadesville, IN, David Ogg (Judy) of Owensboro, KY. Nine Grandchildren: Christopher Ogg (Kimberly), Alexandra Sibol (Andrew), Nicki Ogg Stremming (Eric), Ashley Ogg, Krista Decker, Hannah Ogg, Riley Ogg, Ryan Ogg (Megan), and Jared Kessinger (Shannon), Lynnzy Ross, Kimberlee Hollenback, Teresa McKee (Rodney), and 16 Great Grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and techs on the fifth floor of St. Vincent’s Hospital for taking such great care of Ed in the past two weeks.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at Trinity Anglican Church, 620 Kimber Lane, officiated by Rev. David Straw, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Tuesday from 2:00 to 7:00 PM at Alexander East Chapel and Wednesday from 10:00 AM until service time at the church.
