Eldon I. Cross, 93, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 surrounded by loved ones as he passed from his temporary life here on Earth to the Eternal life in Heaven . He was born August 31, 1926 in Little Sioux, IA.
He served in the Army Branch of the Armed Services in World War II. He loved to garden vegetables and flowers. Eldon served as a Sunday school teacher at Simpson United Methodist Church for many years. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ and his family with all of his heart.
Eldon was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Cross; father, Irven Odell Cross; mother, Margaret Ellen Cross-Little; sister, Dorothy Young; brothers, Gordon Cross, Donald Cross and Leo Cross, and grandson, Joel McBride.
He is survived by his brother, John (Jack) Little; daughters, Kathy Lovelace (David), Margaret Schnarr (Fred) and Michelle Carr (Jeff); grandchildren, Rebecca Stone-Schnarr (Jayson), Myrle Andrew Schnarr, Isaac McBride (Amber), Sara Wingfield (JD), Reba Lovelace, Samuel Lovelace, Zachary Allega, Brett Allega (Ashley) and Daniel Allega, and great-grandchildren, Isabella Pipkin, Thomas McBride, Jacob McBride, Piper Allega, Clara McBride, Ezekiel Allega, Eva McBride, and Jayson Aaron Stone, Jr.
Please come to celebrate his life and service to his country. A Funeral Service will be 12:00 p.m., Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road, officiated by Rev. Benjamin Dilworth, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
