Elizabeth Ann Bennett, 80, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, formerly of Evansville, Indiana, passed from this life on August 31, 2025, after a long illness. Liz was born on June 14, 1945, the only daughter of George and Dorothy Bennett.
Liz was known for her big smile, her sparkling blue eyes, and her even temperament. She retired to Daytona Beach in 2004 after many years working as a title searcher and also as a Chief Deputy Recorder in Vanderburgh County, Indiana.
Liz is survived by her nephew, Stephen Bennett and her best friend, Jo Stevens, both of Daytona Beach, who were her caregivers during her illness, a niece, Karen Luttrell of Patoka, Indiana, and three great nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Charles Bennett, and her nephew, George Bennett. Friends, if they wish, may make contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Family and friends may gather on Sunday, November 2, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, Evansville, IN. A Celebration of Life service will be begin at 3:00 pm officiated by Pastor Greg Davis. The services will be livestreamed at www.facebook.com\FuneralStreamUSA beginning at 2:55 the day of the event.
