

Eloise E. Strupp, 96, of Evansville, IN passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 25, 2024. She was born on December 27, 1927 in Evansville to the late John Lutterman and Elizabeth Marie (Jung) Lutterman.
Eloise was a lifelong member of Zoar U.C.C., she sang in the Church choir, was a Sunday school teacher, and served in the Nursery for over 50 years. She was a servant to the Lord, enjoyed gardening, and loved music. Eloise was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, she was compassionate and took great pride in her work and family which brought her pure joy. She was a sweet, kind, energetic soul and we are blessed that God has shared her with us. Eloise blessed everyone who got to have a conversation with her. She leaves behind a warmth that will be missed by many. We are all better, kinder people for having known her. Eloise worked at Naab Farm during her teen years, then she moved on to Meade Johnson in the Baby formula division. Eloise later went to work in Helen’s Restaurant in the kitchen serving up wonderful meals. She then went on to work at Daughters of Charity Provincialate House in the kitchen where she worked until her retirement at the age of 70.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elizabeth Lutterman; husband, Alvin Strupp, 1948-2005; brothers, Earl Lutterman, Norman (Suzie) Lutterman, Marvin (Ruby) Lutterman; daughter-in-law, Delores Strupp; and son-in-law, George Cross.
Eloise is survived by her children, Tom Strupp (fiancé Debbie Payne), Marlene Cross, Ann (Rick) Hardin, and Beth (Dennis) Daily; grandchildren, Mark Johnson, Sarah (Bobby) Hopgood, Katie (Greg) Barnes, Brian (Jennifer) Wargel, Emily (Joshua) Schubring, David (Emily) Daily, and Daniel (Sarah) Daily; great-grandchildren, Drake, Emmett Johnson, McKenna, Harper, Reese Hopgood, Eli, Tinley, Tess Barnes, Christopher, Emma, Piper Wargel and Spencer Daily; and sister, Mary Lou Harman.
The family gives a special thank you to our friend Phyllis Happe for her spending precious time caring for mom. Also a special thank you to all of our new friends at Bethel Manor for being a part of her life.
Memorial contributions may be made in Eloise’s name to Zoar U.C.C. or Tri-State Food Bank.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 30, 2024 at Zoar U.C.C., 4600 Church Road, Evansville, IN officiated by Rev. Shane McGrath followed by burial at Alexander Memorial Park.
Friends and family may visit on Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, Evansville, IN and again on Friday, August 30, 2024 at the church from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
