Mae was a member of First Avenue Presbyterian Church for many years and VFW Post 1114 Ladies Auxiliary.
She worked at St. Mary’s Hospital in the Dietary Department in the 1940’s. During WWII she worked at Briggs.
Mae was active in the Columbia Grade School PTA.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Mae also enjoyed playing bingo and cards.
Mae was preceded by her husband of 61 years, Fred Schneider; parents, Elmer and Emma E. Huffman; brothers, Charles, Bill, Frank, John and Will Earl; and sisters, Catherine Leslie, Marge Craddock and Mary Bell.
She is survived by her children, Bonnie J. Schwindel and Donald L. Stephenson; grandchildren, Jeff Schwindel, Kevin Schwindel, Kim Arvin; great-grandchildren, Stormy Schwindel, Nicholas Arvin, Gage Schwindel; sisters, Lucille Edwards, Anna Mae Huffman; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Rd., Evansville, IN with entombment at Oak Hill Cemetery, officiated by Rev. David Mills. Friends may visit Friday from 2:00 to 7:30 PM at Alexander Funeral Home.
