

He was a loving son, brother, and uncle. He was a giver of joy, especially to his sisters. Eric was family-focused and loved family events. He loved cooking Burgoo “soup”, barbequing and grilling with his uncles and cousins, and holiday swim parties with his extended family. As a youngster, Eric was involved with various sports in Special Olympics. In his down time, he delighted in watching a list of his favorite movies. Everyone who met Eric was a better person for having known him.
Eric was preceded in death by grandmother, Kay “Gaga” Etienne; grandparents, Henry and Barbara “Gaga Ouch” Thompson; uncle, J.D “Chickie” Davidson; aunt, Julie “JuJu” Thompson and cousin, Jacob Batten.
He is survived by his parents, Rick and Connie Etienne; sisters, Elizabeth Sargent (Cory) and Stephanie Floyd (Matthew); grandfather, Paul D. “Papaw” Etienne, Sr.; nephew and nieces, Joseph, Eloise and Anna Sargent, Julie Floyd and another niece on the way; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1301 S. Green River Rd, Evansville, IN 47715, with Father Bernard Etienne officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the Church. Interment will be held at St. John Catholic Cemetery in Newburgh.
His family is very grateful to all the many professionals and caregivers who helped guide and teach Eric along the way, and to so many family members and friends who loved and supported him and his family throughout his lifetime.
