Esther A. Grisham

Esther graduated Central High School in 1940 and married her first husband, William A. Hill in 1941, she started a family and had two daughters and two sons. She worked at Welborn Hospital and retired after 18 years of service. Esther was a long time member of St. Lucas United Church of Christ and after moving to the West Side she became a member of St. Mark's United Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, William Hill, her second husband, Alva Grisham; sister, Delores Muller; daughter. Jean Halbig; son, William M. Hill; and son, Steven Hill; grandson,Tony Lofton; and great grandson, David Brown.

Esther is survived by her daughter, Barbara Edwards (Tim), of Florida, six grandkids; 14 great grandkids; 14 great great grandkids; and two great great great grandkids.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, followed by burial at Locust Hill Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
