Frederick “Fritz” R. Watson, 84, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at The Charlier Hospice Center at Deaconess VNA Plus. He was born February 10, 1932, in Evansville, to the late Ralph and Lorena (Schweigarth) Watson.
He was well known for being an outdoorsman and enjoyed bow hunting, fishing, and gardening. He had worked at Alcoa and had been a carpenter. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
Fritz was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Margaret Hoss and Hazel Knight; and brothers, Ralph and Donald Watson.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sharon (Wiltshire) Watson; sons, Frederick (Tammy) Watson, Jr. of Newburgh, Andrew (Stacy) Watson of Evansville, and David (Donna) Waters of Nashville, TN; daughter, Brenda (Gordon) Slade of Atlanta, GA; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sisters, Dorothy Conder of Florida and Carol Sue Biggs of Michigan.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, October 29, 2016, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Tom Hubachek, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
