He enjoyed camping, fishing, antiquing, golf, especially Tiger Woods, and watching TV. He was also a Kenny Rogers fan.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marieanna Boatman; son, Mark Boatman, and sister, Patricia Ruff.
He is survived by his sons, Joe and Mike Boatman; daughters, Vanessa, Karen, and Tina Boatman, and Angie (Charles) Elrod; step-sons, Ronnie and Phillip Embry, 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; brother, Raymond Boatman; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday, December 1, 2014, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Pastor Rob Murray, with burial in Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Monday from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
