Gary Wayne Chism

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Wyota Dickinson and Tamara Manly; two brothers, Randy Chism and John P. Chism, Jr.; and grandson, Damian McBride.

Gary is survived by his wife and companion of 31 years, Victoria L. McBride-Chism; sister, Krista Schmitt, and husband, Greg; daughter, Shannon Davidson, and husband, Eddy; son, Christopher "Tegus" McBride; daughter, Holly Jenkins; granddaughters, Kassie Senff, Seana Stilwell, and Josie McBride; grandsons, Drake and Logan McBride, and five other grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Gary served in the U.S. Marines during Vietnam, and was a lifetime member of VFW Post # 1114.

His first passion was betting on the horses at Ellis Park. He was an avid bowler, and an excellent pool player. Gary also enjoyed basketball, fishing and many other sports throughout his life.

He received an Associate's Degree from Lockyear College in Business Management. Gary was a Master Printer for 42 years, and an honorary life member of Local M571.

In lieu of flowers, friends may give plants, or make contributions to the Gary Wayne Chism Memorial Fund.

A Celebration will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from 4:00 pm CST until 7:00 pm CST at Alexander Funeral Home East, 2115 Lincoln Ave., Evansville IN, 47714.

Military Rites will be given at 5:30 pm CST, followed by a Prayer Service.

Casual attire is preferred.
