Gayle Sue McClarney

Gayle Sue McClarney, 82, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2019. She was born July 9, 1937. Upon her marriage to Jerry, Gayle took on the role of mother to the three children, and taught them how to ride horses. For over 40 years, she taught many students how to ride and care for horses. She, her children and students showed horses at the River City Classic, the Indiana State Fair and county fairs. Gayle dearly loved her little dog, Lisa who has a friend named Buddy. She enjoyed fishing, traveling with Jerry, and was an excellent seamstress. She was a member of the United Church of Christ. Gayle is survived by her husband of 44 years, Jerry L. McClarney; daughters, Dawn Bosma (Steve) and Brenda Godwin (Brian); son, Brad McClarney (Sheila); eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W Illinois, officiated by Pastor Jeff Long. Friends may visit Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Vanderburgh County Humane Society.
