He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. George retired from Inland Container after 20 years as a forklift operator. After retirement, he owned a towing service to keep himself busy. George was a U.S. Army veteran and was the neighborhood “go to” person.
George was preceded in death by his parents; wife Sandy (2002); and two sisters, Joyce and Martha.
He is survived by his daughter, Tina Wilkey (Buddy); son, Troy Hamner (Kelli); grandchildren, Kyle Wilkey (Tia), Kim Chumley, C.J. Hamner (Dee Aiache), Miranda Hamner, Jocelyn Hamner, and Tippy Holmes; great-grandchildren, Allyson Wilkey, John Wilkey, Nicholas Wilkey, Brantley Wilkey, Gracyn Wilkey, and Kentlee Hamner; and brothers, Ray Hamner, J.B. Hamner, and Ben Hamner.
There will be no services held.
