

Jerry served as a Sonarman Second Class in the U.S. Naval Reserve for 3 years 3 months and 27 days during WWII. During that time he served aboard two Destroyers; the USS Doran 634 and the USS Orleck 886. He also spent time in the Middle East as part of the North African Campaign, American Theater where he was awarded 2 Bronze Stars. Jerry also served during the invasion of Sicily. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 1114 and DAV Chapter #4. Jerry retired from Whirlpool in 1984 and was a member of Lighthouse Christian Fellowship Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gerald Wayne Moser; and the love of his life, his wife, Bettye Moser.
Jerry is survived by his children; Shirley Downey, Donald Moser (Janice), Sandra Young, Rebecca Hammer (David), and Pamela Spradley; 14 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, 21 great great grandchildren, as well as several special nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday October 28, 2022 at Alexander North Chapel, officiated by his son, Donald Moser and Pastor Joseph Collins. Burial will be in Locust Hill Cemetery where full military honors will be conducted. Friends and family may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
